For our team it is an unmissable experience focused on the latest innovations from Salesforce, an opportunity to connect with the international community while bringing our values to customers and colleagues alike.

Don’t worry if you missed the event of the year: here you’ll find all the updates on AI agents and our main takeaways on how to tackle innovation, so that you can accelerate productivity and provide customers with exceptional experiences.

4 Takeaways at Dreamforce 2024

From AI to customer involvement strategies, we want to share with you major announcements, our suggestions and our experience at Dreamforce with Engineering and our customers.

1. Intelligent automation with AI Agents, an opportunity to be seized

This year’s Dreamforce was truly special and marked a new age in artificial intelligence. “AgentForce is guiding the third wave of artificial intelligence, this is the greatest breakthrough ever experienced in the field of technology” – stated Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, in his opening keynote speech.

Agentforce is an innovative suite of autonomous AI agents able to integrate AI in workflows and managing activities, from marketing to customer service, enabling proactive and personalised actions along the entire customer journey. With Agentforce, companies can make operations more efficient and increase customer satisfaction. All in a safe environment, compliant with the industry standards.

Artificial Intelligence is nowadays both an absolute priority and an enormous opportunity for companies. Agentforce effectively helps teams in numerous fields to carry out repetitive tasks, based on previous knowledge. It is a true breakthrough for organisations looking to hold on to their competitive edge. According to IDC, the impact of Salesforce AI solutions will generate 16.7 billion dollars and guarantee 102,000 jobs by 2028.

By implementing the right digital strategy, based on specific company requirements, and leveraging the potential of AI, companies can achieve significant results in terms of productivity, satisfying increasingly high customer and employee expectations.

2. Data Cloud, data quality above all

At Dreamforce, Salesforce reiterated its commitment to providing advanced tools for improving data quality and security. Data Cloud is the beating heart of the Salesforce platform, unifying and harmonising company and customer data to provide increasingly personalised, connected and coherent solutions, through the Customer 360, Flow, analytics and Agentforce apps.

As of now, Data Cloud is even able to provide AgentForce with unexploited company data, such as audio and video contents, so that AI agents become more aware of the context, informed and capable of adapting to current customer requirements.

Undertaking specific and targeted actions for each customer requires available data that can be activated in a very short time. A clear and in-depth customer understanding is essential when looking to improve the customer experience. Our advice is to use Data Cloud to reduce silos, obtain a clear and holistic vision of the customer, have the right information available at the right time, and dynamically adapt answers based on current customer requirements and behaviours. In this way teams can increase productivity and provide customers with greater value.

3. Thanks to Tableau Einstein, data analysis is available to everyone

At Dreamforce 2024, Tableau announced relevant updates combining AI with data analysis to provide an even more evolved user experience.

This year Tableau aims to make data more accessible and useful, by leveraging advanced integration with automation and AI functionalities of the Salesforce platform.

“Without data, there is no AI” – Ryan Aytay, CEO of Tableau, said on the stage at Dreamforce. “87% of leaders in the analytics and IT sector say that AI progresses make data management an absolute priority”, Aytay commented, relaunching the Salesforce State of Data and Analytics report, which confirms high attention to data strategies in leveraging all the advantages of AI.

One of the main developments is Tableau Einstein, the new generation of Tableau based on Salesforce and equipped with autonomous agents that convert data into information to be used from anywhere. Tableau Einstein includes Tableau Pulse and Tableau Agent. This functionality provides forecasts based on AI for personalised analyses while enabling users of any department to make strategic decisions faster.

Other improvements include Tableau Semantics, which enriches data analytics with the company context to increase reliability of generated insights, and the opportunity to work with real time data through Data Cloud, without moving or duplicating information.

Now more than ever before, data must be connected, integrated and clean to develop effective AI algorithms. An advanced Data Visualisation solution like Tableau ensures data reliability, flexibility and security, thus facilitating an immediate understanding of information. However this is not enough: it is important to have a clear idea of how to achieve and nurture a company data culture, in order to develop a winning implementation.

4. Mulesoft, AI Agents and integration go hand in hand

MuleSoft is playing an increasingly central role on the AI scene.

MuleSoft has highlighted how APIs are essential in an environment guided by artificial intelligence. APIs are crucial for enabling digital agents to interact with different systems, improving automation and optimising operational efficiency inside the company.

New functionalities were also presented, which enable developers and company users to integrate structured and unstructured data from CRM and external systems, allowing valuable information to be easily extracted from a wide range of data.

Today, a data integration strategy is essential for companies in all sectors. This is the only way to ensure coherent and complete access to information from different sources, and fully exploiting the potential of AI.
