Back to work: employee sentiment analysis in the new normal
The HR team of Atlantic Technologies in collaboration with Glickon, has developed a real-time, engagement survey “Come Va?” (How’s it going?) that asks employees questions related to their moods and the changes after this period of remote working.
How’s it going? Gamification to understand employee moods
Every day for one week, Atlantic employees were asked to connect online and answer a short series of questions anonymously. Questions were on various issues related to the “new normal” in life, at work, relationships, values, teamwork, emotions, and civic responsibility.
“We choose to initiate the “Come Va?” game survey with Glickon as it truly embraces the idea of understanding moods of employees and emotional tensions in this period. The corporate employee climate at Atlantic has always been the HR’s priority and I believe it’s essential to listen to the thoughts of our employees. It’s also important that we at Atlantic, communicate that even though we’re separated, we’re never alone, especially in this delicate period of work. Behind every employee there is the reality of family and work which needs to be safeguarded and balanced.”
Tamara Gattus, CLO & Hr Manager | Atlantic Technologies
With the quiz created by Glickon, each employee, at the same time as all his colleagues, was able to express his opinion on the proposed topic and share the feeling of the moment.
Gamification with Glickon: Results and Sentiment Analysis
The results were interesting and it gave us good insight on our Atlantic team. The survey results showed a rediscovering of value for both time and sharing. The results also showed that the team got used to the new conditions and quickly created a new routine. They also experienced an improvement in managing priorities. 70% of the team said that despite the circumstances, they always stayed online. Fun fact, many of us also discovered a hidden skill in preparing food as self-made chef. Overall, the feedback on remote working was positive, although inevitably they missed the human contact in the office. When asked about the value of returning to the office, 67% responded that they’re happy working from home but miss their colleagues.
“The sentiments expressed by Atlantic Technologies and our other customers in this precarious period, is a sign and willingness to actively listen to people and organizations. This is the basis for our values and this is what we wanted to create, during this emergency, a listening platform based on People Analytics called “Come Va?” (How’s it going?) listening before teaching.”
Carlo Rinaldi, Chief Marketing Officer, Glickon
Remote working vs returning to the office
In addition to the Glickon quiz, a survey has been sent out to all employees asking questions aimed at understanding their working needs in order to continue remote working. Each employee was given a budget dedicated to buying tools to improve their remote working experience (i.e. larger computer screen, headphones, video call accessories, special office chair, etc).
Like Google, Facebook, Twitter, and other tech companies, Atlantic Technologies embraces a remote working environment as the “new normal”. However, our offices have recently reopened thanks to the security measures and the adoption of AppyBack, (a Salesforce solution for getting back into the building safely and easily). We’re allowing our employees to decide whether to return to the office or not until the end of July. Innovation and taking care of our employees are the two most important aspects of our company values! Discover life at Atlantic Technologies.
